Changelog

What each build changed.

Every release, with the build number the app checks against. The app updates itself when a higher build lands here — the label beside it is only what we call it.

beta-1build 15

latest
  • Screen Score now tells you how much of the day it actually watched. Time it could not see — the app closed, the Mac off — is reported beside the score instead of being billed as work or handed back as breaks you never took.
  • The app now watches the screens themselves, so a shut lid, sleeping displays or a suspended machine all count as time away — an eight-hour night used to be credited as little as an hour, with the rest billed as screen time.
  • Fixed every day scoring zero in break-cycle mode: a perfectly kept 20-minute rhythm was billed as working straight through it.
  • Clicking Undo on the away reset now sticks — the screen check no longer comes along a minute later and logs the time as a break anyway.
  • An absence is credited once, and only when it was real: a Mac set to never sleep no longer logs the same night twice, a crash or power cut no longer hands back the evening worked before it as rest, and a quick relaunch or update no longer counts as a break.
  • A clock stepped backwards during a break could permanently break the score panel. It no longer can.
  • Every notification now shares one look — the same glass capsule or dialog, with the mandala mark. The wellness card no longer renders light over a dark screen, and overtime reads “1h 20m” to match Screen Score.
beta-0build 14

superseded
  • A break waiting on a call, a meeting or a screen share no longer vanishes when you stop typing to listen. Two minutes of silence used to read as leaving your desk, so the waiting break was cancelled and your next twenty minutes started over. The break now waits out the call and arrives as soon as it ends.
  • A break stuck behind a Focus mode, a fullscreen app, a video or an excluded app now tells you so after thirty minutes. It still never forces the screen open — those are yours to clear, and the notification is the only nudge you get.
  • A break held by a call, a meeting, a Focus mode or a fullscreen app now waits for as long as that blocker lasts. It used to give up after thirty minutes and take the screen mid-call — the interruption smart pause exists to prevent.
  • A break held for hours no longer hides that time from your Screen Score. The app forgives its own delay for one break interval and counts the rest as the screen time it was, so a morning behind a Focus mode can no longer report a clean 100.
  • The long break no longer asks you to look away from the mandala it is drawing.
alpha-3build 12

  • A failed update no longer deletes Mandala. The installer now stops at the first error instead of removing the installed app and then failing to replace it.
  • Tapping a “break held while you're on a call” banner to dismiss it no longer starts the break it was telling you had been held.
  • A Mac left awake overnight no longer takes the screen seconds into the next workday, claiming sixteen hours without a break.
  • A long break now always ends: it has a fifteen-minute ceiling, and going to sleep during one closes it instead of logging the whole night as a break taken.
  • The menu bar icon can repair itself again after a display wake, so it can no longer vanish until you relaunch.
  • During the offline license lock, the countdown and menu no longer promise breaks that will not come.
  • A rate-limited license check no longer deactivates a valid license.
  • Snoozing from the notification no longer freezes the break timer for the length of the snooze, and a fifteen-minute snooze on a planned break no longer lasts ten seconds.
  • Recording a keyboard shortcut and closing Settings without typing no longer swallows keystrokes — including Escape on the break screen.
  • The screensaver's Options… button no longer offers settings it cannot save.
  • Removed the leftover development timer from the corner of the break screen.
  • Added “Reveal Log in Finder” to the menu, and the log now records why a break did not fire.
  • Putting the Mac to sleep during a break no longer counts against your streak as a break you skipped.
alpha-2build 11

superseded · alpha
  • Fixed the License menu item doing nothing — the license window opens again.
  • The “Check your email” card now closes on its own once you click the trial link — it no longer lingers after the trial has started.
  • With break cycles on, the overtime badge no longer nags right after an on-schedule eye break — it now waits until a full cycle has passed without a long break.
alpha-1build 8

superseded · alpha
  • A scheduled break held during a call no longer re-sounds its alert every few seconds, and the time you worked through the call is now credited in full.
  • Scheduled fixed-time breaks are no longer dropped: one held behind a call now runs when the call ends instead of being replaced by a short break or firing the instant you return from being away.
  • Fixed the break countdown jumping back to full time during a call: a break held while you're on a call now stays due and runs the moment the call ends.
  • Check for Updates now opens an About window that shows your version, downloads the update with a progress bar, and asks before restarting to install.
  • The long-break screen shows how long the mandala takes to draw, so pacing can be tuned.
  • Updates install themselves: Check for Updates now downloads the new version, replaces the app, and relaunches — no manual drag.
  • Mandala checks for updates on launch and once a day, and only speaks up when something new is ready.
  • Breaks are scheduled off active time — the work clock pauses while you're away and resumes when you're back, with an undo if it resets.
  • 20-20-20 eye breaks rotate through varied, prompt-specific cues instead of one fixed line.
  • Appearance follows your system light or dark theme, with an optional random style for each drawing.
  • Calmer long-break screen and a refreshed license window.
